About Microsoft Word and its shortcuts

Word has carried its shortcut vocabulary through decades of releases, which is why so much of it feels familiar in other editors. Its commands divide into text formatting, selection and movement by word, paragraph or screen, and document level work such as navigating, reviewing and printing. The review and navigation commands are the ones most people never learn and miss most once they do.

Word for Mac keeps its own list, and the web version drops a large part of the desktop set because the browser owns those keys first. Some commands also depend on the ribbon layout of your release, so an older or newer Word can disagree with what you see here.
