About JupyterLab and its shortcuts
JupyterLab has two keyboard worlds, and most confusion about it comes from not knowing which one you are in. In command mode the keys act on cells: adding, deleting, moving, changing type. In edit mode they act on the text inside a cell. Running a cell is the bridge between them, and almost everything else follows from that split.
JupyterLab runs in a browser, so the browser takes some combinations first, and the classic Notebook interface does not share every binding. Extensions can add and rebind commands.
