About Adobe Illustrator and its shortcuts

Illustrator is vector work, so its shortcuts care about things Photoshop does not: anchor points, paths, alignment, and the relationship between an object and the artboard it sits on. As in the rest of the Adobe suite, single letters pick tools, and modifiers change how the active tool behaves while you drag.

Bindings are editable and saveable as sets, and some commands only apply in a particular mode such as isolation or outline view. Adobe documents Windows and Mac separately, and the two lists are not a straight swap.
