About Google Sheets and its shortcuts

Google Sheets runs in a browser, which shapes everything about its keyboard. It has to leave room for the browser's own commands, so it leans on longer combinations and on menu-driven sequences more than a desktop spreadsheet does. The payoff is that the same keys work on any machine you sign in from, which is not true of installed software.

Sheets lets you turn on compatible spreadsheet shortcuts, which changes what some keys do, so two people on the same file can genuinely have different keyboards. Browser extensions can also claim a combination before the page sees it.
