About Google Docs and its shortcuts

Google Docs is built for drafting and commenting together, and its most valuable shortcuts are the collaborative ones: moving between comments and suggestions, opening the outline, and applying heading styles so the document stays navigable for everyone else. Plain text formatting works much as it does in any editor, which is deliberate.

Docs is a web application, so a few combinations belong to your browser first and never reach the document. Google documents one list that covers both Windows and Mac with the modifier swapped, but the exceptions to that pattern are real, and the table marks them.
